A collaboration between Ensemble Warhol, Contrapose Dance, choreographer Lorraine Chapman, painter Heidi Caswell, and Costumer Penney Pinnett. This 10 minute piece tells the well known French story of a Big Mouthed Frog and various animals he meets in a forest.

“Finding Rothko” piece takes its inspiration from composer Adam Schoenberg original score “Finding Rothko” based on four Rothko paintings (“Orange”, “Yellow”, “Red”, “Wine”). Choreographer Jennifer Hardy uses space, time, and movement to conjure up many aspects of the Rothko paintings.

A dance in three sections, this modern piece features two trios and finishes with a duet. Patrins are signposts left for gypsy travelers: maps and stories about their lives.

The Art of Wine Tasting

A dance in four sections, this piece takes it inspiration from the various steps of tasting wine. From the “pop” of the cork, to “finding the legs”, to the bubbly champagne, this piece delivers an entertaining, playful and witty sophistication in the form of movement. (2009)

This three sectioned piece for six dancers deals with the concept of home and its many connotations. One finds comfort and safely in home, but eventually wants to leave it. Yet home has a way of drawing one back to it-willingly or unwillingly. (2008-2009)

A Christmas Toy Story

A Charming Fable of elves, broken toys, a great gust of wind, and the resourcefulness of friends. This fifty minute ballet tells the tale of five broken toys who work together to make sure there are enough toys to deliver for Christmas! (2008)

This duet created on company dancers Jenny Lustig and Lindsey Ridgeway is light hearted with suspension and a pinch of humor.

This contemporary piece explores the relationship between three generations of women and is inspired by a poem written by Ruth Whitman, the choreographer’s grandmother. (2008)
